Trying to survive dressing for the seasonal transition is, without a doubt, tricky. It’s a little too early for my usual fall go-tos (read: fall sweaters), but there are a few transitional pieces that I start to move into my rotation. Denim jackets can slide into place and boots can slowly be reintroduced to my closet! I’ll even start swapping out summer tanks for lightweight long sleeves. But, I know that jump from summer to fall isn’t easy, so with a little help from my five favorite fall transitional outfits, it can be done!
Look #1. Head-to-Toe Denim
During New York Fashion Week, I wore this DL1961 full denim look (pictured left) and I think it’s the perfect transitional look to embrace the cooler temps.
Look #2. Long-Sleeve Dresses
Dresses aren’t over just because summer is. Slide into a long-sleeve dress and throw on a pair of sneakers for one of my easiest September go-tos.
Look #3. Hoodie Weather
Grab your favorite graphic hoodie and pair it over your summer skirts for a look that’s a little bit summer, a little bit chill and a little more fall.
Look #4. A Time for Trousers
On those days where it really feels like fall, reach for trousers. Your favorite t-shirt will still look great with a pair of trousers and boots–I promise.
Look #5. Leather & Silk
Nothing says summer-to-fall transition quite like a slip dress and a leather jacket, am I right?
After just getting back from NYFW and seeing all the latest looks unfold, I feel more inspired than ever to head into fall! What are some of your go-to transitional looks heading into this new season?
XOXO,
