A week late, but nonetheless: another trip around the sun, another move around the block (not actually but close enough lol)

This past year reminded me that growth is rarely comfortable - and yet ironically, it’s in the discomfort where we grow most. But with that, I’m also learning that becoming doesn’t always mean motion. It’s also about stillness. About the pauses between chapters where you quietly outgrow what no longer fits - in every area and every bucket of your life.

I’m learning the importance of celebrating not just how far we’ve come, but also acknowledging (and celebrating!) even the mundane daily wins.

The small choices we make that build character. The quiet moments of resilience no one else sees. The days where just showing up was (and always is) enough.

I’m learning there is no right or wrong - and that nothing is permanent (not the good, not the bad).

And while I know there is and will always be more growth to take, I look back and am grateful.

Grateful for: every lesson (although I think I’m set on those for a while, thanks!), every person who walked into my life and every person who walked out of my life, and every page within this last chapter.

Day 300 of 365.

Ask yourself:

What promises did I make to myself in January? Did I keep them?
Did I do all the things I said I would? Am I the version of myself I’ve been working toward?

65 days. Use them well, and everything could change. Don’t wait till another new year comes around.

This past weekend I was inducted into the NYU Hall of Fame. My fifth HOF, yet this one feels different. It carries a different weight.

Because medals measure excellence in one moment, one arena, one identity. But maybe this is the truest legacy - not the medals you win, the records you break, or the moments people remember, but who you become when no one’s keeping score.

And to anyone out there still figuring out who they are, still wondering if they’re enough - you are, I promise.

To the city, the chapter, and the place that helped shape this version of me - thank you, forever. 💜

I’ve never - in all my years on social - received as many DMs / replies to a single story as I did last night. Based on the messages I managed to read, one thing became very clear:

So many of us carry the same thoughts, the same weight, the same hope… just quietly. Most doing so behind a screen, trying to make sense of it all.

So I’m sharing the story again today on the next few slides (the one with my Uber driver) as a reminder: even in the moments that may feel isolating, uncertain, scary… or no matter how “together” things might look from the outside, we’re all in this together :) Keep trying your best…Your best to stay kind. Your best to keep going. And your best to fill your mind with a little more positivity, because whatever we think, we become 💫 ...
