Myth: I only need to wear sunscreen in the summer. Mythical! By now we should ALL know that UV rays are harmful for your skin, year round. You can thank your mom, cite *any* study or quote your trusted dermatologist, either way, direct sun exposure puts you at risk for skin cancer. And, there’s a whole laundry list of other ways that the sun can damage your skin.

Another myth is that sunscreen is bad for you. Not so mythical. The type of sunscreen we use is *actually* negotiable. The truth is, there are a lot of ineffective sunscreens on the market. I’m no expert! But let’s get educated. Those that are readily available in drugstores, seem to be mostly chemical. And, chemical sunscreens use oxybenzone that is harmful to you and the environment. We all know that chemicals are harmful to us–we’ve got that covered–that’s not new information :). But, those chemicals do absorb into your skin! I’m team sunscreen and I want sunscreen to be on my team too.

So now that we’re savvy consumers, I’m going to help you navigate through the complicated sunscreen market! Below are my favorite non-toxic sunscreens that I *swear* by for summer and day-to-day use, so you can be an even savvier you 🙂
