Is it safe to say spring has sprung? No? Ok. Well, in my mind it has—and in my closet, too. New shoes will always remind me of the first day of school. A fresh, clean pair of kicks just feels so damn good, whether “kicks” literally means sneakers or a nice square-toed sandal.
In preparation for spring, I’ve upgraded my shoe wardrobe to include a few new “essentials” as I’m calling them. And because we didn’t leave the house in 2020, I’m thinking this year alone is cause for a shoe celebration. Here’s what’s in my cart right now!
1. A bold, chunky sandal.
Would you just LOOK at these Wandler babies? They’re too good. I’m envisioning them with boyfriend jeans and a simple gray tank top to let these shoes do all the talking.
2. A dressy spring sneaker.
Some may say Golden Goose sneakers are inherently not dressy with their distressed nature, but I’m in wholehearted disagreement with them. I’ve always been a fan of this brand (they wear SO nicely after just a few short walks in them), and they hold up. This spring-themed shoe with its pink and purple accents is too cute to pass up!
3. A clog-mule hybrid.
Ok, so these JW Anderson shoes are pretty controversial right now, but I’m OBSESSED! I’m especially into this spring-forward color. Would you wear this style?
4. A girl dad shoe.
I’m coining these the “girl dad” shoes because they’re definitely the silhouette of a dad shoe but give me such feminine, 80s vibes with the colors and pattern. I’m going all out Jane Fonda with leggings and thick tube socks when I wear these Fila sneakers this spring.
5. A light combat boot.
Don’t get me wrong, a chunky black combat boot is WHERE IT’S AT. But with spring right around the corner, I love to continue incorporating this style into my outfits through lighter colors and textures. This suede combat boot from LAST is so perfect.
