I’m finally a local again! After moving to Dallas I have to say I did have a slight adjustment period having to learn to live without Erewhon and Alfred’s 💔, but the amazing spots I’ve found here in Dallas have cushioned the blow. So many of you have reached out asking what my go-to spots are, and I’ve finally sat down and made the ultimate list! There are SO many places I still haven’t tried but here is the running list of the spots I can’t live without.
BREAKFAST / COFFEE:
So far my favorite coffee spot in Dallas would have to be the La La Land Cafe *and yes it does make me miss LA even more*. It’s the cutest little shop and their coffee is so good! Other great coffee spots include: Toasted, Halcyon (get their lavender latte—I know it sounds weird but trust me!), Sip Stir Coffee House, and Otto’s! As for a sweet treat with my coffee, The Salty Donut has quickly become an obsession. Try the horchata donut—just do it!
LUNCH
Now that I have a co-worker (for the first time ever) as my lunch buddy, I’ve gotten to try a few more lunch spots around me! And as many of you probably have seen, Mendocino Farms is my #1. I was so excited when I found out they had a Dallas location, and it’s been my go-to basically since I moved back. Some of my other favorite local spots are the Taco Diner for their Los Cabos salad, Bird Bakery, and of course True Food Kitchen!
SUSHI / ASIAN
It’s been my mission to find a sushi place that rivals any place in LA here in Dallas, and I’ve definitely found a few that come close! Uchi has the most amazing sushi I’ve tried since I moved; it’s such a chic restaurant and the food is absolutely amazing! Another amazing spot is Shinsei, and if Chinese food is more your vibe, I’d check out Alice!
ITALIAN
I love food, but I love Italian food more than anything! There are so many good Italian spots here in Dallas but Sixty Vines and Sprezza are tied for my two favorites. Sprezza has the most amazing pasta ever, and same goes for the PIZZA! If you know me, you know I’m obsessed. Sixty Vines has an amazing ambiance that also works for a perfect date night spot! Other delicious options are Taverna and The Charles.
MEXICAN
If you can’t sense a theme by now, I’m trying to replace all my favorite LA spots! Mexican food is one that Dallas has on lock, but I will say, LA is a close second. My go-to spot right now for anything Mexican is Mi Cocina, because if you haven’t tried a Mambo Taxi yet, you’re missing out. It’s basically a crossover between a Margarita and Sangria and let me tell you, it’s my new favorite drink! Their brisket tacos are also amazing. Some other yummy spots to check out are Jose and Mr. Mesero!
DRINKS & APPS
When life is *normal* one of my favorite activities with my girls is going out for drinks and apps! Taking social distancing precautions, I’ve been able to visit a few cute spots. Paradiso, XO Dining Room, and Bistro 31 are some of my absolute favorites! The ambiance is everything and and all these spots fit the bill for a fun night with the girls ❤️
