The Fall chill is in the air and you know that means coat season has officially arrived! Although I’m not a huge fan of the cold, I love a good layering moment. Luckily it doesn’t get too cold down here in TX, but I had to round up some of my favorite coat trends this season for my ladies up north! There are so many cute outerwear trends this year, I can’t get enough! Keep scrolling for 5 of my favorite coat trends this season that you need ASAP ❤️
1. DOWN & PUFFER
I love a good cozy puffer coat and it’s so cool to see how this trend has evolved over time—so many different materials and textures being used it makes it so fun to shop. This is by far the warmest style in my closet right now and such a good style to invest in especially if you live in a colder state!
2. FAUX FUR & SHEARLING
These are my favorite because it basically just feels like walking around wrapped in a cozy blanket all day 😂 ! Faux Fur and Shearling have quickly become so popular and there are so many to choose from now. Sometimes I like to go for the Faux Fur vest as an additional layer if it’s not too chilly, but if I’m traveling somewhere cooler, it’s shearling all the way!
3. TRENCH COAT
A good trench is all you need during this transitional weather! It makes such a good layering piece, especially on rainy days where you still want to look chic. I tend to go for more of a neutral color, but trench coats are also a good opportunity for a statement piece! Nothing like a bright color for those rainy days!
4. SHIRT JACKET
2020 has been the year of the Shirt Jacket! This is another great transitional piece especially for those of us in warmer weather states that just like to pretend Fall is colder 😜. There are so many options for these, but I’m a huge fan of a corduroy moment or even a fun print. These are meant to be the ultimate Fall layer so definitely choose something you want to get a lot of use out of!
5. FAUX LEATHER
And last but certainly not least, my favorite material of the colder seasons! Faux leather instantly dresses up whatever outfit you’re wearing. I LOVE that we’re using faux leather on puffers, and I just ordered this one and can’t wait to wear it. A leather jacket is the perfect layer if you’re looking to crank your outfit up a notch, definitely a must have!
