It’s crazy to think that we’ve been living our new normal for over a month now. In the middle of all the madness, I’ve been doing my best to try to stay hopeful and busy, but not put too much pressure on myself to be over-productive. Like most of us, I have a few things I like to do whenever I’m starting to feel a little off balance. Sometimes all it takes is getting up and distracting yourself for a minute! Change your perspective, change your life.
These are three acts that I always have in my back pocket that honestly just feel GOOD! Some of these activities might seem small but I swear they work wonders for changing your perspective. All we can really do in this situation is take it day by day, be kind to ourselves and make your mental health a priority. Thinking of all of you and hope these small tips will help in some way. We’re all going to get through this together ❤️
#1 Dance Party
Yes, I mean it! Turn up your favorite playlist and literally just dance around wherever you are. Lean into it and let go! I promise even just moving your body around and dancing to your favorite throwbacks will instantly make you smile. This is one of my favorite ways to de-stress and it’s even more fun over FaceTime with a friend 🙂
#2 Paint Your Nails
There’s something about looking down at painted nails mid workout that just makes the effort worth it! Plus, it provides a time for true focus and no distractions. I’m not the best at painting my own, so this has definitely been good practice for me! Although it does take some time and concentration, it’s so satisfying and worth it when they’re perfect. A little ounce of normalcy during this time goes a long way! If you’re looking for some good mani inspo—check out the cutest nail trends here. 💅
#3 FaceTime a Friend
I’m know a lot of you tuned into my IG live with Shawn earlier this week, it was so fun to catch up with her especially since we’re so far away! Taking the time to check in on your friends is so important. We’re all feeling the same way right now, and it feels so good to talk things out with friends who can understand exactly what you’re feeling. Pick up the phone and make that call you’ve been putting off, I promise you won’t regret it. 💞
