I recently traveled to Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, on the big island of Hawaii. It was such a serene, picturesque location and I’m already itching to get back.
The trip was so special because I traveled with a group of inspirational, entrepreneurial women who are so dedicated to their respective crafts. We exchanged stories and lessons, both business and personal, and we were able to truly connect in a non-judgmental environment. I left feeling refreshed, motivated, and encouraged that the #womensupportingwomen movement is so very much alive and well. In fact, meeting these women and learning from their experiences further ignited my passion to empower and inspire the next generation.
But this resort, though. Situated amongst the natural black lava landscape, in between cloud-covered volcanoes and atop white sandy beaches, you can’t help but be in an immediate state of awe—it’s as though you’ve been transported to another planet, actually.
I immediately felt at home with Four Seasons Resort’s wellness-centric approach to vacationing. The food was incredibly fresh, sourced locally by Executive Chef Bellec. The layout of the resort itself even encourages you to move your body and explore (the property is sprawling, to say the least, and you could spend days discovering its natural beauty).
One of the best experiences we participated in was a morning boat ride on the resort’s ribcraft. Our captain, a local who knew the island inside-and-out, surprised our whole group by finding a pod of dolphins on their morning swim around the island. He taught us how to safely swim with them, not disturbing their route or their space. Swimming with hundreds of dolphins in this non-invasive way was honestly one of the most special things I have ever done, and truly the most connected I have ever felt to nature. We also went on a salt harvesting hike with Executive Chef Bellec, after which we used the natural Hawaiian sea salt in a four-course cooking class!
If you’re looking for an extremely private getaway, I highly recommend Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. It’s the perfect spot for an ultra-relaxing honeymoon, an unplugged vacation, or even a wellness getaway with girlfriends. The concierge and staff is incredibly knowledgeable, and was super helpful in tailoring our experience to our exact tastes.
Hawaii, I will be back.
