Travel is back, baby! My first real trip since the pandemic will be Tokyo for the Olympics—which I could not be more excited for. If you know me, you know that traveling is a large part of my job, so, you could say I’m kind of a professional! I’ve learned a few things over the years that have made traveling easier, so as we ease back into the swing of travel, I thought I’d share my top 5 travel essentials to help you on your next trip, too!
1. Packing Cubes
Never underestimate the power of packing cubes! They’ll help you stay organized, and they allow you to optimize space. I’ll be in Tokyo for a month, so keeping all of my belongings highly organized will be key.
2. 10 Foot Long iPhone Charger
When staying at hotels, you never know where your outlet will be. I always recommend bringing a 10 foot long iPhone charger so you can conveniently charge your phone from bed or wherever you need to. It also helps if you’re going to be in airports and need to plug in!
3. Wet/Dry Bags
Ok, so I know these are *technically* for baby clothes (haha!) but they’re also awesome for laundry items when you’re traveling. It’s great to have a place to keep your dirty clothes separate from your clean clothes while you’re traveling, and these little bags allow you to do so in an organized way. If you’re going on a beach vacation, place your wet swimsuits in these bags to keep your other clothes safe and clean!
4. Compression Socks
Ok, not the *sexiest* travel essential, but an important one nonetheless! If you suffer from swelling while traveling (especially on long flights), I cannot recommend bringing a pair of compression socks enough.
5. Vitamin C Packets
Traveling is hard on our bodies, so I always like to have some backup. I actually take a pack of this Vitamin C every single day when I’m traveling (you just squeeze it into a small amount of water and take it like a shot).
