Happy 2019! I am starting this new year feeling refreshed and excited for the many projects I’m working on currently! I always turn to books for those times when I’m in need of extra motivation or new mindset strategies. I have 5 books every career girl should read below!
After recently celebrating my 29th birthday, it makes me realize how vital your 20s are in your personal and professional life. This book is a reality-check for anyone who feels stuck in a rut. The book lays out tips and tricks for you to apply to work, relationships, personality, social networks, and personal identity. It’s such a great read for anyone to learn how to make the most of your twenties!
2. Girl, Wash Your Face & Girl, Stop Apologizing
Both of these books are best sellers and sitting at the top of the charts for good reason! Rachel Hollis is hilarious and so real in showing how we as women can live our lives fearlessly. She talks about real-life moments that had left her feeling overwhelmed, unworthy, or ready to give up (any other girl out there relate!?). Her whole premise is that “we can change the world. But first, we’ve got to stop living in fear of being judged for who we are.”
There has been buzz around this book for quite a while and, after reading one chapter,
4. The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance—What Women Should Know
If you need a confidence boost and advice on how to conquer any of your career fears, get started on this book! The authors break down the key to tapping into your inner confidence from research from top psychologists around the world and how exactly one can learn the skill of confience—yes it’s a skill so it can be learned!
5. #GIRLBOSS
Written by the OG girl boss, Sophia Amoruso, #GirlBoss is a true rags to riches (plus a LOT of hard work) story. Sophia shows how no path is the same to success, and not all paths equal success. It’s all about trusting your intuition and following your gut.
There are, of course, so many other great reads, so I included a few more in the shopping link below! All of these books are also great on audio to listen to on your commute, on the beach, in the shower or whenever!
What are some of your favorite career book reads? Tell me in the comments!
