These are super weird times we’re all living in. As someone who thrives on being active, it’s tough to find fun ways to get your heart rate up indoors. Last week I shared some of my favorite props I use at home in my lower impact workouts so if that’s more your style – check it out here!
Lately I’ve gotten a little creative with the small amount of outside time I do have. Since we’ve started social distancing, I’ve been making a conscious effort to take short walks or even do mini workouts to stay active in the fresh air! Since I’m sure all of you are feeling the same, I’m sharing 3 small ways I’m utilizing my outdoor time!
#1. Move your indoor workout, meditation, or dance party outside!
I try to make a point to come outside for at least 15 minutes everyday just to stay sane! I’m super lucky to have a small patio, so I’m definitely making use of that right now. Even just switching the scenery for my alone activities has been the best breather. Something about being in the sun and hearing birds chirping just instantly lifts your mood 🙂
#2 Find a steep hill or staircase to do a quick leg/booty workout
I’ve also recently discovered I can take advantage of the landscape if I find a hill or tall staircase (as long as no one is around)! This is perfect for using your surroundings to get creative with your lower body workouts!
#3 Take your pup (or yourself) on a walk around the block!
Dogs can definitely sense our anxiety, and, in turn, are feeling this stress just like we are. If you’re used to letting your dog out in the backyard, switch things up and take a stroll around the block instead! It will be just as beneficial for you as it is for them.
How are you guys getting creative with your outdoor time? Tell me in the comments below!
XOXO,
