Long weekends are a perfect opportunity for some binge-reading. So, I’ll keep this short–we’ve both got some reading to do! This summer I spent some quality time reading my way through a few intriguing reads and I’ve hand-picked the best so you can narrow your focus to make the most of your end of year reading time. Ahead are the five books you must read before the end of the year!
Normal People by Sally Rooney
Read this solely for the writing. Without giving spoilers, this will-they-or-won’t-they love story hails from the voice of two millennials, Connell and Marianne. You’ll have to read the book for the rest!
Three Women by Lisa Taddeo
As the title suggests, the author sets forth and journeys cross-country to follow the secret lives of three women. The truth is, everyone can resonate with living your public life, a private life and a secret life. It can definitely become progressively difficult to tap into your deepest desires.
Originals by Adam Grant
If you’re looking to examine how to be at the forefront of new ideas, this book is truly inspiring. Learn how to become original and champion ideas, without conforming.
Shoe Dog by Phil Knight
Nike is a gold standard but the come up for founder Phil Knight was real. Follow along with this refreshingly honest reminder that business success is messy, chaotic and riddled with sacrifice–but worth it! After reading Knight’s journey, I instantly recognized how important it is to check in with your goals.
Severance by Ling Ma
A satirical, end of the world, offbeat story told by Ling Ma set in New York following Candace Chen, anonymous blogger “NY Ghost.” This light-hearted read is a perfect excuse to stay in!
Within these new-ish books, there’s something for most moods 🙂 Have you read any great books lately?
XOXO,
share.
