Being a content creator, it’s often so difficult to create a work life balance when work is actually documenting my day-to-day life. I’ve been fortunate enough to have some travel lately and time to relax with family and friends. I’m sharing four tips I try and put into practice to unplug and reset from the work day!
Set Screen Limits
This one is hard for me, but I’m actively trying to set some digital boundaries to be more present. I’ll be extra mindful of leaving my phone elsewhere during meal time, having device-free walks, and spend time reading before bed instead of scrolling.
Plan a Nightly Routine
I’m a creature of habit, so if I plan my night free of digital distraction, I usually stick to it. Whether this is a workout, hanging with friends, or even cooking a healthy meal- if I have a task or plan to separate work from personal, it usually goes a long way.
Work Smarter
I find it much easier to truly unplug when I maximize my time throughout the day. I prioritize my work tasks accordingly to ensure there is nothing looming in the evening or into the weekend.
Get Outside
I say this all the time, but a healthy dose of Vitamin C and fresh air do wonders for the body and mind. Even a quick reset on the patio immediately helps me relax and decompress after a busy day.
