If you’re present in 2019, then you’re witness to what women can do. We’re building empires. We’re thought leaders. We’re sheEO’s of emerging beauty brands that happen to make really innovative beauty products. Some of my favorite brands–like Summer Fridays, OUAI, Pat McGrath Labs, Glossier and Volition Beauty–were all founded by women. And there’s no better way to show our support than through our wallets. Ahead is what my ideal women-founded beauty routine looks like including six of the best products all helmed by women.
Skincare
There’s no shortage of women-founded skincare, all you need to do is take your pick of some of the most notable brands on the market right now or browse through a few noteworthy aesthetician’s feeds. I’d start with a gentle cleanser like Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser, followed by my plush Volition Celery Green Cream Moisturizer.
Makeup
There are SO many artist lines emerging at the moment that are founded by women–I’m looking at you Pat McGrath and Charlotte Tilbury, even Nikki DeRoest with Roen Beauty! I’d definitely follow my skincare with Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation and a pop of color with HUDA Beauty’s The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette.
Haircare
And for finishing touches, let’s not forget hair. Haircare is definitely an emerging product category for women by women but Jen Atkin’s OUAI leading the charge. We’re sure to see more innovation in this category in the future. I love to start my hair routine off with OUAI’s Leave-In Conditioner and end with the Volumizing Hair Spray.
