Everyone knows I’m always on the move, so I have to keep my snacks close and my coffee closer 🙂 The whole point of snacking is to keep from getting hangry right! The problem with most packaged snacks (pretzels, chips, crackers), although yummy, is they don’t contain the right nutrients that we need to actually be satisfied. So when you feel that 3PM lull, you’ll need a snack that you can rely on. Which is why I always reach for one high in protein when I’m on the go!
Protein is key. It takes longer for our bodies to process and helps to boost energy levels, so you won’t need to reach for another snack in 30 minutes! And as far as how much we should be eating, that varies, but usually a good snack to eat is within 5 to 15 grams of protein. So, I thought I would share my favorite protein on the go snacks to give you a boost to get from meal to meal 🙂
Justin’s Cinnamon Almond Butter: Any vehicle for nut butter and snacking is perfection in my opinion! If you’re not a fan of it on its own, try scooping out the middle of an apple and filling it with almond butter!
Owyn Vegan Protein Shake: If protein powder isn’t your thing, a high-protein beverage that provides 100% plant-based nutrition and is low in sugar, is a win in my opinion.
