After working with Ashley, I picked up a few tips that I thought I’d share if you’re looking to tackle an organization project at home. Keep scrolling for six simple ways to streamline your at home organization!
“Edit” your space, it’s the best way to get a clear vision for what you end up keeping and organizing. I learned from Ashley that it’s best to purge all the things you want to throw away, donate, or sell before you actually get down to business.
Sort into categories. When deciding where everything will be stored, it’s much easier to tackle by categories like sweaters, pants, dresses, shoes, etc. Plus, when you get dressed every morning, you want to know what all your options are! Keeping all like items together ensures everything has a place and will make actually staying organized a lot easier.
Organize by color. The easiest way to make your space feel like you just stepped into a boutique storefront is sorting by color, starting with white and ending with black.
Find your favorite way to fold! Staying consistent with how you fold your clothes is the key to saving space. It also just keeps your space less cluttered and makes it much easier to find what you’re looking for!
Buy all your organization products in the same color. This might seem like a minor detail, but organization products are functional and should just blend into the background of your space—so keep everything consistent 🙂
Enlist a friend for help! I can’t say this enough, Ashley truly changed how I look at organization and my space. Bringing in a fresh set of eyes from someone who knows their stuff is so helpful when getting organized. You need someone to remind you what sparks joy!
And there you have it, my six tips for streamlining at-home organization! I hope this inspires you to take the plunge and re-organize that space you’ve been avoiding, it’s truly the best way to start the year with an organized clean slate 🙂 Let me know if you end up using any of the above tips in the comments below!
