Well, hey 👋 , mid-April! If you can believe it, summer is right around the corner and it’s a perfect excuse for trying out the chic, bizarre, and/or mind-blowing wellness trends that we’ve been seeing all over the inter-webs. Personally, I find an immeasurable (disproportionate, probably) amount of joy in testing these sorts of fads. In fact, it’s sort of a hobby of mine. Plus, spending half of my time in LA allows me to get the scoop on these trends before they tone down in absurdity as they make their way over to the East Coast.
Today, I’m letting you in on four of my favorite wellness trends to try before summer. Let me know your thoughts on these trends in the comments below! Have you tried any of them? And, what have you done in the name of wellness? I want to know!
ONE / Dry brushing alleged benefits: improves skin’s texture, eliminates toxins, boosts lymphatic system, and even reduces the appearance of cellulite. It also opens your pores to allow moisture to better penetrate your skin.
TWO /Alkaline water alleged benefits: helps to neutralize acid in the bloodstream, leading to increased oxygen levels and improved energy and metabolism, contains anti-oxidant properties, cleanses the colon, revitalizes the skin, and lubricates muscles and joints. It might also reduce body fat and fatigue, according to one study. (Source: Shape Magazine, study: Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology)
THREE /Infrared sauna alleged benefits: eliminates toxins and depletes stored fat though detoxification process, improves overall skin glow by bringing a fresh blood supply and essential nutrients to the skin’s surface, mimics the cardiovascular conditioning benefits of continuous exercise, and boosts immunity, mood, and energy.
FOUR /Cryotherapy alleged benefits: faster athletic recovery, inflammatory pain reduction, improvement in skin elasticity, and better sleeping.
